Wedding cakes and celebration cakes FAQs
Q. How much will I expect to pay for a cake?
All of our wedding cakes and celebration cakes are designed to suit your personal style and requirements so the price is always different. If you click on the images in our wedding cakes and celebration cakes picture gallery you will get an idea of costs and how many portions that particular cake will serve.
Q. How do I order a cake?
We recommend a full consultation for all wedding cakes to discuss your requirements. For birthday cakes, christening cakes, corporate cakes and cookies,
please give us a call or send us an email.
Q. How do I care for my cake?
Our cakes do not like being put in the refrigerator! Once you have received the cake, you can store it in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight. You can refrigerate or freeze them once they have been cut to preserve them. If you would like to keep any decorations such as sugar flowers or figurines, remove them from the cake and store in a container preferably with some anti- moisture crystals.
Q. When should I order my wedding cake?
To avoid dissappointment, wedding cakes and celebration cakes should be ordered 3-9months in advance, particularly for summer events. However, this is only a guide and sometimes we are able to accommodate last minute orders.
Q. Do I have to choose something from your cake galleries?
No. Our wedding cake and celebration cake picture galleries are there to inspire you. Please let us know what ideas you have in mind and we will create a cake to suit your requirements.
Q. Can you deliver our wedding cake?
We can deliver our wedding cakes and celebration cakes and cookies. Wedding cakes are personally delivered and also usually set up at the venue. Celebration cakes are sent via courier. Please call or email us to receive a quote.
Q. How do we choose the design of our cake?
The size of the cake will depend on the number of guests you need to cater for. If your cake is being served as desert, the size is going to be twice as big. When designing your cake, you need to consider the style and theme of the occasion and the personality of the individual(s) for whom the cake is being made. Photographs, magazine clippings, stationery, etc. can all help when it comes to designing the cake.
With regards to wedding cakes, it’s certainly a good idea to bring along any of the above to your consultation together with colour swatches and pictures of flowers and pieces of fabric so we can incorporate one or more of the elements into your wedding cake.
Q. What flavours do you offer?
We offer an extensive choice of flavours and fillings for you to choose from. There is a list on the flavours page for you to look at. If you have any particular flavour in mind that is not there, please let us know and we will try our best to accommodate you.
